Biking in Mammoth Lakes
Skiers may hate to see the snow melt on Mammoth Mountain, but it does open up terrain for some of the best mountain biking in the world. On this vast mountain side, you can take a scenic ride through the densely wooded trails, or you can race through some heart-pounding descents and catch some air along the way. Mammoth Mountain’s Bike Park has more than 80 miles of trails and single-tracks for riders of all ages and abilities.
Road bikers also have a wide variety of options in Mammoth Lakes. Miles of paved roadways zigzag along the sensational Sierra scenery and through the vibrant streets in town. Give your bike’s suspension a test in the Inyo National Forest’s network of unpaved roads and trails, or gear over Minaret Road to reach the breathtaking Minaret Vista. Or head a long wide stretches of U.S. Highway 395 for some of the best views the area has to offer.
